Energy Saving Trust informs about a survey stating that more than 70 countries across the world are benefiting from Scotland’s knowledge of renewable energy, including the US, Canada, Germany, Ireland , Sweden, Afghanistan, Angola, Brazil, Fiji, Kazakhstan and Singapore.
The most popular export destination is the US, with nine of the 15 Scottish headquartered businesses.
According to Scottish Renewables chief executive Claire Mack, the skills and products developed in Scotland have a positive effect far beyond their borders.
Scotland’s energy minister Paul Wheelhouse mentioned that from the early days of hydro power development Scotland has been a byword for reliability and expertise in renewable energy engineering matters till today. He hoped to see more Scottish companies to develop a globally competitive and successful supply chain.
