The Delegation Headed by the Kingdom of Sweden is in Armenia

The official website of the Ministry of Environment informs that today Deputy Minister of Environment Irina Ghaplanyan received the delegation headed by Johanes Olielundi, Director General for International Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the perspectives of development in the sphere of environment.

Deputy Minister of Environment Irina Ghaplanyan presented to Mr. Olielundi the process of reforms in the field of environmental policy in our country. The Swedish delegation was particularly introduced to the implementation of projects and actions aimed at waste reduction, water resources management, responsible mining and the introduction of new environmental infrastructure.

Olielundi expressed their readiness to convey to the Armenian side the successful experience applied in their country. Speaking on the issue of climate change, the guest emphasized the importance of exchanging experience between the two countries. Irina Ghaplanyan informed that by 2023 Armenia was going to ban the use of plastic bags, underlining that the Armenian side will be happy to study the Swedish experience in this process as well.
