Eco-friendly IKEA

World Economic Forum informs that IKEA will only use renewable and recycled materials by 2030. By 2030 everything IKEA sales will be designed to be re-purposed, repaired, reused, resold and recycled.

The store is making all its furniture environmentally friendly. It will also remove all single use plastic products from stores, increase the vegetarian food it offers at its restaurants and aim for zero emission home deliveries by 2025.

60% of the IKEA range currently uses renewable materials and 10% contains recycled materials. Although many campaigners welcomed IKEA’s move, they said more needed to be done across the industry.

World Economic Forum urges to change our lifestyles as one truckload of plastic waste enters our oceans every minute.
