Levon Galstyan posting pictures of blooming Lake Sevan in his Facebook page informs that 80 years ago those who lowered the level of Lake Sevan were convinced that there would be no problem with the lake. Billions of Soviet rubles and Armenian drams were spent, Arpa-Sevan 48-kilometer-long water pipe tunnel was built, and a lot of water from Arpa was transported to the Sevan. Then the Vorotan-Arpa 22-kilometer tunnel was built, which, however, does not work. Nevertheless, Lake Sevan remains endangered and its ecological situation is a lot different from that of 100 years ago when Sevan peninsula was still an island.
Levon Galstyan urges to take measures in this matter so that the next generations do not blame us for the steps taken without serious scientific analysis.
