EcoLur informs on July 15 the business entities of the littoral recreation zones of Lake Sevan have blocked Sevan-Yerevan highway demanding to announce at the state level that the quality of Lake Sevan water doesn’t pose any danger to human health.
Gegharkounik Regional Head Gnel Sanosyan said in his interview with Azatutyun TV that the state of the shores has got better, they are clean and people can swim in the lake.
In the end the business entities cleared the road provided that there will be a statement at the governmental level in the nearest future that the water in Lake Sevan is clean and doesn’t pose danger for the human health.
It is noteworthy that this year Lake Sevan has blossomed. A few days ago, the Ministry of Health spread a statement urging citizens not to swim in the coastal areas of Lake Sevan, where bacterial algae are observed.
On July 13, SOS Sevan initiative sent an open letter to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The initiators, presenting the facts about the state of the lake, demand that the government take serious steps to save Lake Sevan.
