Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Development of Communities NGO represents a project called “Recycle It” in Armenia. The main aim of the project is to create waste sorting and recycling culture by installing sorting bins and increasing public awareness about waste recycling.
Through this project, ISSD expects to install 300 sorting bins in 50 organizations including schools, universities, offices and 10 publicly available collection points for plastic, paper, glass, and metallic waste. The collected waste will be transported to the recycling sites.
The project will allow to decrease the waste in landfills reducing chemical emissions caused by incorrect waste management. As a result the total areas of landfill sites, greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity damage, water and soil pollution, and human health damage will decrease.
