World Economic Forum reports that at the edge of the French capital, an urban farm will supply residents with a tone of food a day.
The huge space will be loaded with around 30 different types of plant. They’ll be grown in columns without soil and fed with nutrient-rich solutions and rainwater.
The Paris Expo Porte de Versailles is being renovated at the moment. Visitors will have the chance to purchase and sample whatever is grown in the rooftop restaurant. Citizens will also be able to rent space to grow their own crops.
It is planned to become the world’s largest urban rooftop farm next year.
