Nick Bruno and John Nowakowski formed Bayfront Glass in June 2019. It is a business that operates in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. Bayfront Glassis bringing back glass bottle and jar collection in Erie County, Pennsylvania for recycling.
Bayfront Glass will collect waste glass containers (i.e. bottles and jars) and process them into furnace-ready cullet to supply glass container manufacturing plants in Pennsylvania. This waste glass management system would divert over 6,000 tons of glass annually from the Erie County landfill creating 10-20 jobs within the first two years of operation.
Residents and businesses would also be able to drop off their glass at the processing facility located at 953 East 12th Street in Erie.
In order to launch the pop-up collections this year, they need $150,000 to purchase a truck, put a deposit on the glass processing equipment, and have some additional operational funds.
Any amount you can contribute to bring glass recycling back to Erie County. Your contributions will help launch Bayfront Glass and build a model system for true glass recycling.
